The Huffington Post has a Photo Slideshow of this year’s entries in the Solar Decathlon Competition for the Best Solar Powered House. Some of the solar home designs are pretty out there, and probably wouldn’t find aesthetic acceptance from any but the most out there back to the lander. But many are reasonably attractive and a few are both attractive and affordable.
I am surprised there are no Hay Bale construction entries though. This, to me, is one of the most promising of the affordable and sustainable building technologies being tested.
